Careful... Some flowers have thorns.

Recently, :iconengel-of-the-wired: suggested I do a death fairy to make myself feel better given recent problems with the new lighting engine code and character rigging. You know what? She was right! I do feel better. :)

The weapon was modeled in wings3D and, completely, reflects the mood I was in... The greaves were also modeled in wings3D. The rest came from various other places.

This image is also the first image I have rendered using the first candidate release for a new lighting engine I am working on for Povray. (Swirl was a proof of concept... the lighting engine has improved, a lot, since that image.)

The engine is called IBX for the moment and I still haven't decided if I am adding support for poser just yet. There are still some rough edges in the processing engine I need to smooth out before I release it for general use.

Wow this is a very nice composition! I would had used A4 for the character for the sake of facial expressions, but well, perhaps death fairies are supposed to be a little creepy. :) I like the flying hair a lot, is it the Mitsu hair? ^___^

I still suffer from a lack of wardrobe for A4..... The hair is AS Litsure hair mixed with A4's Posh hair.

WW2 supports V4, and thus it automatically also supports A4. :)

How well does it work? I tried the demo of XD and was disappointed to find out that it handles converting clothes with hands and feet very poorly. I am wondering if all conversion tools suffer from the same problems.

I tried many conversions tools before, but so far WW2 has done the best work although only in a few cases the results are acceptable to my standards. The biggest issue is usually small details being destroyed, but WW2 seems to do a much better job in preserving them. When it comes to converting from A3 to A4, you first have to convert to V4 and that's where I see a problem because of the massive differences in body proportions...

very nice. she doesn't look friendly at all. i like seeing A3 away from the norm. i just wish more people would stop rendering pretty fairies in forest groves and blaze new trails.
