Eye of the Storm by Lokai2000 Eye of the Storm by Lokai2000
This is one of those pieces that is definitely worth a full view.

I finally finished the collab piece I have been working on with :iconhellwolve:. The character in the scene is Raine. She is Hellwolve's creation and when she gets serious she can create thousands of metal feathers that just rip everything in the area to pieces.

The original idea for the piece came from this scene in Hellwolve's gallery. [link]

Hellwolve provided the character and the background models. I did the scene setup, lighting, feathers, debris, orbs, and rendering. I also got to try out motion blur for this piece and sharpened some of my C skills in creating particle systems.

The scene was rendered in Megapov and it took... well, we'll not talk about how it took to render at 2560x1440 pixels. Let's just say I was glad to have a backup Linux box that had nothing better to do.

Nice work.
So what ever happened to this particle system you've created? Have you used it for anything else?

Mmm... apart from using claws instead of metal feathers it's pretty much the same effect my cat achieve when i try to catch her at medicine time... :omg:...

Great power-calling pose and the magical twister effect looks grand, up to and including the movement blur on the single "pieces"... i can easily see why you must've been glad to have this linux box handy.... ;) Amazing render mate!!! :D

Having attempted to give cats medicine before... I can soooooooo identify with your first sentence. It usually ended up being a 2 person job and it was always my task to hold the cat. .... Yeah right..... Who ever thought holding something that small could be so $#@$ hard?

In eleven years and four cats of medicines, only once i managed to be able to do it alone! LOL! Ever tried wrapping them in a cover though' We discovered this technique only recently (suggested by a vet) and it works fine for us (even though you'll still need two persons and... well... you'll still need to get the cat inside the cover in the first place! :omg:)

Very Cool! Really like that you chose red as the choice of color for the storm - such an unusual
hue for a scene of this nature. And thanks to Hellwolve for letting you complete the scene!
