I think it is pretty safe to assume that this was inspired by Final Fantasy XII. When I started the "Viera" project, this was the scene I originally had in mind where Vein and V'Jal encounter a street vendor in one of the cities of Ivalice. I, strongly, had to resist the urge to place a semi-transparent brown and orange box floating over the vendor.  I'm not going to go into the creation of the Vein and V'Jal characters as that is covered in other pieces. The rest of the scene was a *lot* of work though. All of the architecture in the background (including the sign) was modeled in 3DSMax. All but three of the pots were also modeled in 3DSMax. The rug on the ground and the "apron" on the front of V'Jal are cloth simulations. A *lot* of the textures and material are also custom creations. Etc.. etc... If anyone would like more detail, I will try to answer what I can. |
